Sadness and Love, and a Hiatus

28 Jul 2014

(I'm posting this to both my blog and my Mom's.)

Life is woven from both beauty and tragedy. Two weeks back, tragedy struck my family when Mom's husband of 25 years passed away suddenly from a heart attack. We both loved him dearly, as did so many people. He had one of those twinkling spirits that always made people brighten around him.

It's a terrible time, as you can imagine. I'm doing my best to take care of Mom as we pick through a daunting amount of details. It's sobering and scary, but at the same time, family and friends are coming to our aid in ways that are truly beautiful.

Neither of us knows when we'll be back to normal blogging, although blogging is solace for both of us and we'll be back as soon as we can. (Here on my blog, you'll see some posts related to my upcoming class in the near future.)

If you know and love my Mom and feel like doing something to help, I set up this donation page for her. Every little bit helps her hugely right now, and of course, your thoughts and prayers do, too.

We may not be that quick to moderate comments or respond to emails for a while, but we're thinking of our internet buddies fondly and reading your blogs for comfort. See you when we can.

As you already know, I'm so sorry for your loss, and I'm sending so much love from my family to yours. xoxo

So very, very sorry to read your sad news. My heart goes out to you both. When my father passed away suddenly at age 59 (my mother was 57 and I was 27)we spent the first year just drifting along in a perpetual state of shock. It is quite a scary situation to be thrown into. Eventhough I was out on my own and my mother handled their household finances and affairs, we still felt we had been set adrift...our rock was gone. Rest in the supportive embrace of your family and friends, accept their help (and ask for it, when needed!), and know that things will eventually get better. My thoughts and prayers are with you both <3.

Sending you both love and support.

Diane, We're so sorry to hear about your family's sudden loss. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Veronica Phillips

My best to you, your mom and your family. Take it one day at a time.

Oh Diane...I'm so very sorry for your family's loss. My thoughts and warm hugs go out to you during this difficult time. Much love!

I saw the post on your mom's blog earlier today. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know just how difficult it can be. Please let me know if I can help with anything. Your mom is so close and i'd be happy to help her out.

When my husband died suddenly (over 30 years ago) someone gave me a copy of the little gem of a book, "How to Survive The Loss of a Love." I found it to be deeply helpful, and I highly recommend it. And I'm sending you both lots of love. xo

Praying for you and your mom
Please hug her for me ♥

This news makes me very sad for you all. Loss is always hard on those left in the material world. Sending lots of love to you and Pam and the rest of the family!

I'm so sorry, Diane. Sending hugs, and keeping you and your mom in my thoughts.

I am so sorry for your loss. I pray for peace for your family.

Sending out all my love, sympathy and good thoughts to you both - to the whole family. So very sad, Diane, I am so sorry to hear that you have lost a beautiful person in your lives. Yes, take time and go through it, what else is there to do? I know you are so grateful to have each other right now.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your Mom. Also to all the family and friends who will miss him. Life is hard sometimes, especially when it's unexpected. God be with you all.

I am so sorry for your loss. When you "know" someone from the Internet your understanding of that person is very far from their reality - I always think your life is bright colors and creativity and rainbows but of course it is not. No one's is. I hope you can recover quickly from this sad blow and look forward to "seeing" you soon.

I'm so sorry to hear! My thoughts are with yall! take care of yourself!
